Jordan NPP

On May 22, 2009 Director General of the State Corporation for Atomic Energy Rosatom Sergey Kirienko and Chairman of the Commission for Atomic Energy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Haled Tukan signed an intergovernmental agreement concerning cooperation in the peaceful use of atomic energy.

The tender for construction in Jordan of a single-unit NPP on a “turn-key” basis with an option for the second power unit was announced on January 17, 2011. On June 30, 2011 JSC Atomstroyexport submitted a technical offer for the NPP construction to the customer – Jordan Commission for Atomic Energy (JCAE). The offer was prepared by the Russian company in the format of an EPC-contract. A commercial offer was submitted to JCAE on August 14, 2011.

Besides JSC Atomstroyexport in preparing the Russian tender offer there were involved OJSC Atomenergoproject, OJSC OKB Gidropress, SRC Kurchatov Institute, OJSC Tvel and a number of other key organizations of the atomic industry.

Since 2012 the project has been implementing with the participation of Integrated Company JSC «NIAEP» - JSC ASE.
